Spot: Beach Workum
The home base for Sky High, here is the majority of our rental and lessons take place. For ten years Sky High Watersports has been an established name, and thousands of people have gone before you, and discovered Kitesurfing or Windsurfing here. Partly because of the location you can sail with many wind directions, and the conditions are perfect for beginning kite surfers. Staying the night is also possible, at walking distance there is a 4 star campsite, It Soal.

Lemmer
Spot: Lemmer beach
Our second, unique location on the IJsselmeer, just a stone's throw from Beachclub Lemmer, is our kitesurfing school on the IJsselmeer coast, Sky High Lemmer.
Kitesurfing is allowed on Lemmer, outside the swimming zone. This is allowed from October to May, outside the summer season. This makes Lemmer suitable as a kitesurfing spot, when other spots are closed.
We have a standard selection of Windsurf boards and rigs, but also SUP boards, so that you can be active on the water, alone or with friends. Besides the standard equipment on site, we can also provide larger groups with the right material on request.
What can you expect at Strand Lemmer?
Large sandy beach with protected swimming area
Deeper water, so challenging conditions in strong winds
Proximity to the town of Lemmer, with all its conveniences.
Kite surfing not allowed, so plenty of room for other activities

Mirns
Spot Mirns
When the conditions at our home base, Workum, are not suitable, we have the possibility to move to the beach at Mirns. Because of its unique location, this spot can be used for Kite- or Windsurfing lessons with different wind directions.
The facilities at this location are not that extensive, so a good preparation is important.
When to choose the Mirnse Klif?
With wind directions that don't allow sailing at Workum
When you are looking for shallow water
When you are looking for a change from your usual spot
Spot Kornwerderzand
This spot can be sailed in many wind directions and is situated in a unique location, near the Afsluitdijk.
Kornwerderzand is related to Makkum; in summer you can kitesurf at Kornwerderzand, but in winter this spot is closed and you can continue at Makkum.
When to choose Kornwerderzand?
With the wind directions: NO-O-ZO-ZW
When you are an experienced kitesurfer
When you are self-sufficient
When sailing at Makkum is not allowed (1 May to 1 October)
Makkum
Spot Makkum
This spot can be sailed in many wind directions and lies on a unique location, with its own boulevard on the beach.
Makkum has a relationship with the spot Kornwerderzand, in the summer you can kitesurf on Kornwerderzand, but in the winter this spot closes, and you can continue on Makkum.
On the boulevard of Makkum you can find a surfshop, a snackbar and many other accommodations. This makes it a good place to be before and after your session.
When to choose Makkum?
With the wind directions: NW - W - SW
When you want a lot of facilities on the beach
Easy for both Windsurfing and Kitesurfing (when allowed)
When sailing at Kornwerderzand is not allowed (1 October to 1 May)

Kornwerderzand
Spot Kornwerd
This spot can be sailed in many wind directions and lies on a unique location, near the Afsluitdijk.
Kornwerderzand has a relationship with the spot Makkum, in the summer you can kitesurf at Kornwerderzand, but in the winter this spot closes, and you can continue on Makkum.
When to choose Kornwerderzand?
With the wind directions: NO-O-ZO-ZW
When you are an experienced kitesurfer
When you are self-sufficient
When sailing at Makkum is not allowed (1 May to 1 October)
Stavoren
Spot Stavoren
This spot can be sailed in many wind directions and is situated in a unique location. The spot is located near the city of Stavoren, with many facilities in the city. At this spot, besides windsurfing, kite surfing is also allowed. There is limited space to rig up and little beach available. There are relatively few lessons at Stavoren, also because there is a limited shallow area, not unlike Mirns or Workum.
When to choose Stavoren?
With the wind directions: NO - N - NW - W - ZW
When you are (somewhat) experienced Kitesurfer
When you are self-sufficient
When sailing at Makkum is not allowed (1 May - 1 October)
Hindeloopen
Spot Hindeloopen
This spot can be sailed in many wind directions and is situated in a unique location, between the Mirnse Klif and Workum.
Hindeloopen has a limited sandy beach, good parking facilities, but few on-site amenities.
When to choose Hindeloopen?
With the wind directions: NW - W - ZW - Z
